AP CM Chandrababu Naidu Launches 3 Lakh Houses Under PMAY-G 2.0

AMARAVATI, OCTOBER 5, 2026: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has announced a series of initiatives focusing on housing, education, artificial intelligence and technology-driven development in the state.

3 Lakh Houses Under PMAY-G 2.0

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, along with Union Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, launched the foundation work for 3 lakh houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) 2.0 scheme in Andhra Pradesh.

The Centre has sanctioned ₹3,600 crore for the housing programme.

3D Technology for House Construction

A pilot project involving 177 houses using 3D concrete-printing technology was also launched at Burripalem in Guntur district.

The technology is expected to reduce construction time, labour requirements and material waste while helping speed up the delivery of houses to beneficiaries.

100% Housing Target by 2029

Naidu said the state government is working towards achieving 100 per cent housing coverage for eligible poor families by 2029.

The government is also looking at technology-based construction methods to accelerate housing projects across the state.

AI Education From Class 6

In the education sector, Naidu announced plans to introduce Artificial Intelligence education from Class 6 in Andhra Pradesh schools from the next academic year.

IIT Hyderabad is expected to support the development of AI and deep-tech curriculum for school students.

Pan-IIT Amaravati Council

At the Pan-IIT Andhra Pradesh Summit, Naidu sought the support of IIT alumni for the development of the state’s technology and innovation ecosystem.

The proposed Pan-IIT Amaravati Council will focus on emerging areas including AI, quantum computing, semiconductors, space, defence, healthcare and agritech.

Focus on Technology-Driven Development

The initiatives reflect the state government’s focus on combining welfare programmes with technology-driven development. The government aims to strengthen housing, education, infrastructure and emerging technology sectors across Andhra Pradesh.
